Who is abigail

They had protected them when the servants had cared for their sheep out in the desert, and they were faithful to never take anything from them. At a time when dangers in the desert lurked all around, this was a huge blessing from David to Nabal and his family.

Their protection gave them the ability to finish their work and to prosper from their business dealings. So when David sent a word of kindness to Nabal, asking him for a simple act of hospitality for his men which was common in this culture and time , imagine his anger when this hard-hearted man responded with such rudeness and contempt.

Who is this son of Jesse? Many servants are breaking away from their masters these days. Why should I take my bread and water, and the meat I have slaughtered for my shearers, and give it to men coming from who knows where?

About four hundred men went up with David, while two hundred stayed with the supplies. But we see quick reasoning and sound judgment in her character, for she knew just what to do.

She was not afraid to act quickly:. Yet these men were very good to us. They did not mistreat us, and the whole times we were out in the fields near them nothing was missing. Night and day they were a wall around us all the times we were herding our sheep near them.

Now think it over and see what you can do, because disaster is hanging over our master and his whole household. He is such a wicked man that no one can talk to him. He is able to use any of us, even those who feel insignificant or powerless, for His greater good.

Abigail showed great wisdom in acting quickly, swiftly, and speaking honorably to David. She took control of the situation that was potentially dangerous for them all. She sent food and her servants up ahead. She chose wisely to act alone, without Nabal knowing. And as she came riding her donkey towards David and his men, she met him with honor and respect for how he had cared for her people. Instead of hiding or cowering, Abigail moved forward, towards the danger, knowing that God was surely with her.

And doing so saved her household. She begged forgiveness on behalf of her entire household, and God used that moment to show David how wrong it would be to take revenge in his own way and kill these innocent servants. This was a pivotal moment for Abigail because she had no idea how David would respond.

But still, she chose to do the right thing. In 1 Samuel 25, a beautiful story emerges, one of submission and deliverance. Abigail is a lesser-known heroine in the Bible, a humble woman who was married to a wealthy scoundrel. She knew who David was and the One that he served.

Without hesitation, and without telling her husband, Abigail gathered together food supplies and loaded them on donkeys. Then she headed out to meet the future king of Israel. When Abigail saw David, without a word, she fell on her face before him, bowing herself to the ground.

As a little girl, Abigail grew up all over the world, and thought her father was dead more than a few times before he actually passed away for real. As a teenager, Abigail had a crush on Max Brady, but when he told her he just wanted to be friends, she went to live with her family in London. When Abigail finally returned in as an adult, she found herself attracted to Chad DiMera , but he had feelings for her best friend, Melanie Jonas.

After an ill-advised attempt to seduce a married Austin, Abby began a relationship with Cameron Davis. When Chad returned to Salem, she slept with him despite being in a relationship with Ben Weston. When Ben abducted Abigail, she went into early labor and delivered their son. Chad tried to rescue her, but Ben tied them both to the bed and set it on fire before running off with the infant.

Thankfully, Chad and Abigail were rescued and Ben was arrested. She and Chad married at the DiMera mansion to finally become a family. Unfortunately, Abigail began having hallucinations of Ben and went to desperate extremes to prove that he was really tormenting her again.

Chad had her committed to Shady Hills, but continuing to see visions of Ben, she broke out and was later presumed dead in a plane crash. Abigail returned to Salem very much alive months later and spied on her loved ones, including Chad, who had developed a relationship with Gabi Hernandez. After revealing herself, Abby reconciled with Chad, but he admitted that while he wanted to continue to be a family with her and Thomas, he also loved Gabi.

Thankfully, Abigail recovered from her injuries, and she and Chad were finally remarried. But just as things were looking up for them, Andre was murdered and the DiMera family was thrown into chaos.
